  1. John de Burgh Perceval AO (1 February 1923 – 15 October 2000) was a well-known Australian artist. Perceval was the last surviving member of a group known as the Angry Penguins who redefined Australian art in the 1940s. Other members included John Reed, Joy Hester, Sidney Nolan, Arthur Boyd and Albert Tucker.

  2. John Thomas Perceval (14 February 1803 – 28 February 1876) was a British army officer who was confined in lunatic asylums for three years and spent the rest of his life campaigning for reform of the lunacy laws and for better treatment of asylum inmates.

  3. John Perceval was an Australian painter and ceramist who worked in a naive and expressive style influenced by the Boyd family and the Antipodeans. He suffered from polio at 15, joined the Army, and married the sister of his stepfather. He painted landscapes, nativity scenes, and ceramic angels with a joyful brush stroke and a naive quality.

  4. Suffering from alcoholism and schizophrenia in 1974 Perceval committed himself to the psychiatric hospital Larundel, Melbourne, where he remained until 1981. Perceval was awarded Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) in 1991 for services to the arts.
