Richard William Penn Curzon-Howe, 1st Earl Howe, GCH, PC (11 December 1796 – 12 May 1870), was a British peer and courtier.
Admiral of the Fleet Richard Howe, 1st Earl Howe, KG (8 March 1726 – 5 August 1799), was a British naval officer. After serving throughout the War of the Austrian Succession, he gained a reputation for his role in amphibious operations against the French coast as part of Britain's policy of naval descents during the Seven Years' War.

17 de mar. de 2017 · Admiral Richard Howe, 1st Earl Howe was a notable Royal Navy officer in the latter part of the 18th century, seeing extensive service during the Seven Years' War. Richard Howe later commanded British fleets during the American Revolution and acted as a peace commissioner.
Earl Howe is a title that has been created twice in British history, for members of the Howe and Curzon-Howe family respectively. The first creation, in the Peerage of Great Britain , was in 1788 for Richard Howe, 4th Viscount Howe , but it became extinct upon his death in 1799.
Having been educated at Eton and then Oxford, Howe took his seat in the House of Lords in 1820, having succeeded his paternal grandfather as Viscount Curzon. In 1821 he took the surname Howe after that of Curzon by royal licence, and shortly afterwards he was created 1st Earl Howe.
