Henry Wellesley, 3rd Duke of Wellington (5 April 1846 – 8 June 1900) was a British peer and Conservative Party politician. Early life [ edit ] He was a son of Lord Charles Wellesley and grandson of the 1st Duke of Wellington .
Captain Henry Wellesley, the 6th Duke of Wellington, died during operations at Salerno. He was in charge of 2 troop with orders to attack and take the village of Piegolelle (also seen spelt as Piegolette). This was heavily defended by the Germans firing from the heights called 'The Pimple'. He was awarded a posthumous Mention in Despatches.
