Bas-Rhin (French pronunciation:) is a département in Alsace which is a part of the Grand Est super-region of France. The name means 'Lower Rhine ', referring to its lower altitude among the two French Rhine departments: it is downstream of the Haut-Rhin (Upper Rhine) department.

Le Bas-Rhin ( /bɑ.ʁɛ̃/ Note 1 ; en alsacien Unterelsàss, ‘s Unterlànd ou ‘s Ingerlànd 1) est un département français. C'est une circonscription administrative, territoire de compétence de services de l’ État, dont la préfecture est située à Strasbourg. L' Insee et la Poste lui attribuent le code 67 .

Located at the border with Germany in the historic region of Alsace, it is the prefecture of the Bas-Rhin department. It is the official seat of the European Parliament . In 2021, the city proper had 291,313 inhabitants and both the Eurométropole de Strasbourg (Greater Strasbourg) and the Arrondissement of Strasbourg had 514,651 inhabitants. [9]
El Bajo Rin (67; en francés Bas-Rhin, en alsaciano Unt'relsass) es un departamento de Francia, administrativamente dependiente de la región de Alsacia, con capital administrativa en Estrasburgo. El 1 de enero de 2021, esta comunidad se fusionó con el Alto Rin para formar la Colectividad Europea de Alsacia.
Géographie du Bas-Rhin. Le département du Bas-Rhin fait partie de la collectivité européenne d'Alsace. Il est limitrophe des départements du Haut-Rhin au sud, des Vosges et de Meurthe-et-Moselle au sud-ouest, de la Moselle à l'ouest, ainsi que de l' Allemagne, à l'est le long du Rhin et au nord.
