The fashion show was cancelled in 2019, the same year its organizer, Edward Razek, resigned under public pressure. It made a comeback and was rebranded in 2023 as a Prime Video special titled, “The Tour ‘23”.
In the 2017 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, the brand faced further controversy and allegations of cultural appropriation. The criticism was directed at fashions in the 'Nomadic Adventures' segment that appropriated Native American and Indigenous African cultures.
