John Whitaker Straw ( 3 de agosto de 1943 ), conhecido como Jack Straw, é um político britânico do Partido Trabalhista. Foi ministro do Interior da Grã-Bretanha de 1997 a 2001. Desde 2001 é ministro dos negócios estrangeiros (relações exteriores) da Grã-Bretanha.
John Whitaker Straw (born 3 August 1946) is a British politician who served in the Cabinet from 1997 to 2010 under the Labour governments of Tony Blair and Gordon Brown. He held two of the traditional Great Offices of State, as Home Secretary from 1997 to 2001, and Foreign Secretary from 2001 to 2006 under Blair.
Biography. Little is known of the revolt's leaders. It has been suggested that Jack Straw may have been a preacher. Some have argued that the name was in fact a pseudonym for Wat Tyler or one of the other peasants' leaders; all of them appear to have used pseudonyms, adding to the confusion. [1]

Straw managed Tony Blair's successful leadership campaign in 1994 and entered Blair's cabinet following the 1997 election win as Home Secretary. In this post, Straw was accused by some of taking a more hard-line approach on crime than his Conservative predecessors.

A nível de estudos optou por Direito e em 1967 licenciou-se na Universidade de Leeds. Dois anos depois, tornou-se o líder da União Nacional de Estudantes, cargo que exerceu até 1971.
