  3. Henry Richard Charles Wellesley, 1st Earl Cowley, KG, GCB, PC (17 June 1804 – 15 July 1884), known as The Lord Cowley between 1847 and 1857, was a British diplomat. He served as British Ambassador to France between 1852 and 1867.

  4. Captain Henry Wellesley, the 6th Duke of Wellington, died during operations at Salerno. He was in charge of 2 troop with orders to attack and take the village of Piegolelle (also seen spelt as Piegolette). This was heavily defended by the Germans firing from the heights called 'The Pimple'. He was awarded a posthumous Mention in Despatches.

  5. The Henry Wellesley was one of five convict ships transporting female prisoners to New South Wales in the year 1836, the others being the Roslin Castle, Thomas Harrison, Elizabeth and Pyramus. A total of 668 female prisoners arrived in the colony in 1836. Two ships brought female prisoners from England - the Elizabeth and the Henry Wellesley.
