Krav Maga (/ ˌ k r ɑː v m ə ˈ ɡ ɑː / KRAHV mə-GAH; Hebrew: קרב מגע, IPA: [ˈkʁav maˈɡa]; lit. ' contact combat ' ) is an Israeli martial art . Developed for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), [1] [2] it is derived from a combination of techniques used in Aikido , Boxing , Judo , Karate and Wrestling .

Born in Budapest in 1910, Lichtenfeld grew up in Bratislava, Slovakia where his father was a police officer and self-defense instructor. Training at his father’s gym, Imi developed into a talented boxer, wrestler, and gymnast.
Krav Maga, as mentioned above, is a self-defense and fighting method that was developed for the Israeli Defense Force and certain Israeli security forces. Krav Maga’s creation is credited to Hungarian-Israeli martial artist ImiLichtenfeld. Lichtenfeld had experience as a boxer and a wrestler.
Biography. Eyal Yanilov is a graduate of the School for Trainers and Instructors at the Wingate Institute for Sport and Physical Education and holds a degree in electrical engineering. He studied with the founder of Krav Maga, Imi Lichtenfeld (also known as Imi Sde-Or) beginning in 1974. [2] .
