26 de jul. de 2024 · And while I haven't played Baldurs Gate 3, I voted Disco Elysium (which I have beaten and replayed), because I appreciate what Disco Elysium did so much more. It's a unique setting, set in an everyday style, without combat but still includes RPG character building, and has an interface with thoughts and items, that does exactly what it needs to do, rather then comform to expected standards.

18 de fev. de 2023 · There are dozens of us. Disco Elysium is a game i just dont get. On paper it was everything i always wanted in a game. But then i played it and was so utterly bored that maybe my dream game was just a bad idea. I find the game writing more "annoying person who really wants you to think theyre smart" than actually smart.
17 de jan. de 2020 · Feels like a superficial recommendation just because most of what you posted parallels Disco Elysium more thematically than aesthetically, but Dishonored I and II share a similar style and presentation with DE, and they're also just great games in their own right.
31 de mar. de 2021 · Disco Elysium is a unique blend of noir-detective fiction, traditional pen-and-paper RPGs, and a large helping of existentialist theory. Its twisting plot, cast of memorable characters, and sheer depth of choice combine to create an experience that begs to be savoured.

The video apparently goes into the current lawsuit and what happened to the reality of a sequel. It's a very long video and it's hard to summarise fully in just a paragraph so I recommend giving it a watch if you have time to spare.
10 de jan. de 2022 · I just finished Disco Elysium, finally. I started playing it in late 2020 originally. I ran out of time to play games at the end of that year, then was planning to pick it up again in 2021, but didn't get around to it until this week. The overall experience is definitely unique. The game's tone is a kind of melancholic coping humor.
1 de dez. de 2022 · Disco Elysium is a game very much tied to the way of writing but also the culture that is expressed in the text. I like the example in that example in the OP picture since it's explaining the play on words there. It's interesting how many set phrases we have that when translated straight become really abstract.
