7 de set. de 2017 · Prince Edward was the son of Prince Bernhard of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach and Princess Ida of Saxe-Meiningen. In 1841 he joined the 67th (South Hampshire) Regiment of Foot as an ensign. He married Lady Augusta Katherine Gordon-Lennox in 1851. Edward transferred to the Grenadier Guards and served in the Crimean War (1854-1856).
