Once I dedicated the appropriate time and attention a few months later and wham, I saw the genius in this movie. I now can't get enough of it and watch at least once scene a day and probably the entire movie at least once a week while I am working on office stuff. Perfect movie to help the time go by.
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is wish fulfillment. In this respect, I think that people like it in the same way that they like Midnight in Paris. But it's also very subtle. (For Tarantino, I mean.) Other than Checkov's flamethrower, the movie is a low key character study, which imagines that post 1970's Hollywood never occurred.

Almost every aspect of Bruce Lee from that specific point in time (Green Hornet era) was inaccurate - hair style, fighting style, even his attitude. Bruce was arrogant but he was also fully aware of the cultural climate around Hollywood at the time and it's hard to believe he would blatantly antagonize so many people and risk losing his job.
4 de set. de 2021 · I felt the same way after Hateful 8 as I did after Once Upon A Time. I walked out of the theater thinking “wow that was great acting and great film making, but why?”. I love Tarantino but I’ll never watch those films again like I do his others because they don’t really say or do anything.
21 de mar. de 2022 · Your cut of Once Upon a Time in...Hollywood was great. The deleted scenes were masterfully added and i especially loved the grainy filter of the acting scenes. The filter on the old TV were Rick was playing in the F.B.I show was also a very clever addition. Thanks for sharing it.
29 de jul. de 2019 · I think the heaven motif is correct. Instead of the hell that we got in real life when those people were murdered, the Tarantino-verse gets a comparatively tame conclusion that will be remembered as the time that B list actor was forced to kill some hippies that broke into his house and maybe the dream of the sixties would continue into the seventies and the world would be completely different.
16 de mar. de 2022 · I feel like I'm in the middle spot with this flick, I liked it, but at the same time I kinda felt disappointed, I was expecting way more, especially from Quentin, but it's still a great movie Really excited to see your edit!
26 de jul. de 2019 · For Tarantino, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is his love letter to L.A., the title of the film, in one regard, has "a fairy-tale aspect". On another level, since the film is not historical fact per se, the title is a memory piece. 10/31. The film 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood' is over a three day period in 1969. 11/31
