Ivan Edward Sutherland (Hastings, 16 de maio de 1938) é um informático estadunidense. É um dos pioneiros da Internet. Desenvolveu o Head-Mounted-display, em 1968. Criou o Sketchpad, em 1963, uma aplicação gráfica inovadora.
Ivan Sutherland is an American electrical engineer and computer scientist who invented Sketchpad, the first graphical user interface. He won the 1988 Turing Award and the 2012 Kyoto Prize for his pioneering and visionary contributions to computer graphics.

Ivan Sutherland is a pioneer of computer graphics, Sketchpad, and integrated circuit design. He worked for DARPA, Harvard, MIT, and RAND, and co-founded Evans and Sutherland and Sun Microsystems Laboratories.
