Sergio Mattarella is the current President of the Republic of Italy, who was born in Palermo on 23 July 1941 and has a law degree from "La Sapienza" University of Rome. He was a member of the Chamber of Deputies from 1983 to 2008, a Minister of Education and a Constitutional Judge before becoming the twelfth President of the Republic in 2015 and re-elected in 2022.
