23 de ago. de 2021 · It turns out there's a default setting that does not allow participants to join before the host, so that even after the host joins, the participants (who receive a message telling them to wait until the host begins the meeting) are left in a waiting room indefinitely.
If you receive a message that you are waiting for the host to start this meeting or webinar, it means that the host has not started the meeting. In the case of webinars, either the host has not started the webinar or the webinar is in practice mode and has not yet started to broadcast.
12 de out. de 2022 · Recently, when I try to join by clicking on the JOIN link on my calendar and launch the meeting from Zoom, I get the "Waiting for host" message as others have described. What did Zoom do to cause this?
29 de abr. de 2022 · When you see the message “Waiting for host to start meeting” when trying to join a Zoom meeting, it simply means that the Zoom host has not yet started the meeting. In other words, they have not clicked on the “ Start Meeting ” button and initiated the session.

10 de mar. de 2024 · On several Zoom meetings that I have attended, I have noticed that they have customized the "Waiting for host to start meeting" screen. This is NOT the same as doing custom waiting room messages. This is the screen you see when you are waiting to be admitted to the meeting.
It is possible to start or join a Zoom meeting without the host present, as long as the host scheduled the meeting with specific settings configured. When scheduling a meeting, the host must disable the waiting room feature and enable the setting to allow participants to join before the host.
