A time capsule is a historic cache of goods or information, usually intended as a deliberate method of communication with future people, and to help future archaeologists, anthropologists, or historians. [1] .
This is a list of time capsules. The register of The International Time Capsule Society estimates there are between 10,000 and 15,000 time capsules worldwide. An estimated 95% of time capsules are lost track of by the fifth anniversary of their burial.

The International Time Capsule Society (ITCS) is an organization established in 1990 to promote the careful study of time capsules. It strives to document all types of time capsules throughout the world, and to make this information accessible to the public.
A time capsule is “a container used to store for posterity a selection of objects thought to be representative of life at a particular time.” Time capsules are interesting to people of all ages and touch people on a world-wide scale.
