12 de dez. de 2018 · What Happens In “The Voyage” A girl of about five (Fenella) travels from Wellington with her grandmother by boat to her grandparents’ home in Picton, where she will live with the grandmother and grandfather. Her mother has passed away and her grandmother now takes care of her as her guardian.

“The Voyage” is one of the best examples of this writing method. The theme is that Fenella’s mother died, and his father does not take it upon himself to bring up the child alone, so he leaves the little girl with grandparents who live in another island.

The “voyage out” is both literal and mental, with the actual ship’s voyage lasting four weeks, and with Rachel finding herself outside of what she has always known. After some time at sea, Helen, Ridley, and Rachel arrive at the resort.
