Director Andrea Breth keeps the mystery intact, turning House Bly into a labyrinth in which the characters are not the only ones to lose themselves.

Richard Hickox impresses on this occasion more than ever before. He seems intent on bringing out the Stravinskian, brittle side of Britten’s writing.
