SMASH is the St Mary’s School Shop and is a popular venue for girls during their breaks and on weekends. It sells a large range of stationery, toiletries, gifts and greetings cards, stamps, sports equipment, snacks and drinks. Girls can try on uniform items before ordering, and second-hand uniforms are also available.

Entry is at 11+ (our main intake), 13+ or 16+ and is by the school’s own entrance examination, an interview and a report from the current school. London Gatwick, 42 miles/ 68 km. Our Ascot Residential Summer Centre is based at St Mary’s School. This traditional English boarding school was built in the 19th century and has grown into one of the finest boarding schools in the country.
History of the School Mary Ward was born in 1585 into a wealthy recusant Catholic family near Ripon in Yorkshire. She received a good classical education, and then, at the age of 15, she decided upon the religious life, and entered the monastery of Poor Clares in St Omer.
