A formação de uma banda história Em 1965, Rod conheceu o guitarrista Jeff Beck, que já era famoso por ter tocado no grupo The Yardbirds. Ele buscava integrantes para a nova banda que queria montar. Ao se lembrar de ter visto Rod the Mod em ação, o guitarrista decidiu convidá-lo para se juntar ao grupo, que já tinha baterista e tecladista.
