29 de fev. de 2024 · A Premature Death from Cancer. In 1960, Cromwell fell ill and was diagnosed with liver cancer. He had no family or friends to support him, and could not afford proper medical care. He died on October 11, 1960, at the age of 50, in his apartment. He was buried in Fairhaven Memorial Park in Santa Ana, California.

Quick Reference. (1626–1712). Lord protector (1658–9). Son of Oliver Cromwell, he held no important position until 1657. Under the Heads of the Proposals, Oliver could nominate his successor. Despite inexperience, Richard initially provided stability, settling army discontent and calling a parliament elected on the traditional constituencies.
In the 1650s, Richard served as a member of parliament, and on his father’s death, on the 3rd September 1658 , he was proclaimed Lord Protector in succession. His position was largely untenable from the start; even his father had difficulty keeping the Commonwealth together, and Richard had neither political nor military experience, not was he a forceful character.
