19 de jan. de 2024 · CAE has successfully delivered an Embedded Virtual Instructor Training (EVIT) capability for the RAF and has been awarded a 3-year contract to support the 360-degree video lessons for the Puma and Chinook. Using VR instruction allows more efficient use of airborne training time and increases entry standards for new skills.

The aircraft is used in a variety of combat roles, including the tactical movement of troops, weapons, ammunition and stores on the battlefield, as well as the extraction of casualties and in response to medical emergencies on the frontline.
21 de jan. de 2024 · This initiative, involving VR headsets and dynamic training environments, has been developed through a collaboration between Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S), 28 (Army Cooperation) Squadron RAF, the Support Helicopter Simulation Delivery Team, and CAE, a global leader in training for the civil aviation, defence and security, and healthcare markets.
The second fitness test is during the Potential Gunner Selection Course (PGSC) at RAF Honington, and includes the following: RAF Swim Assessment. RAF Regiment Applicant Selection Test (RAST) 2 Km/1.25 mile run: PTI led 500m warm up to be completed within 5 mins. Followed by the 2km/1.25 mile best effort.
In 2014, as a result of Support Helicopter rationalisation across Defence, the RAF’s Merlin helicopters transferred to the Royal Navy. In May 2020, No. 22 Squadron re-formed at RAF Benson, providing operational evaluation, trials and testing of equipment and tactical training for the crews of all helicopter types flown by the Joint Helicopter Command.
