It has never been this bad in all the years I've been listening to music, it's no longer a product of "creative" genius or talent, it's about marketability first and foremost.
11 de dez. de 2018 · I grew up on pop radio. Roller skated to pop & disco. Listened to pop of the late 90’s & 2000’s and boy bands when my daughter was growing up. I still have every CD I bought for her….she wanted to toss ‘em, but I hoarded them up. She will thank me one day. Honestly, I don’t listen at all to modern day pop.

I've read a few on the Rolling Stones and the pre first single release days are very interesting, capturing the times of the early sixties, particularly in London in the music scene. Those early days of the Stones makes me think of a quote from Keith Richards, who has said:-

27 de out. de 2005 · Re: Ultimate Spinach All the artists I listed aren't psych/pop. You have to give them a listen. I think I know your taste in music somewhat by now and wouldn't recommend you sunshine pop like the Mamas And Papas or the Turtles.:)

19 de abr. de 2024 · I was down under in Oz, unattached to pop culture, when Ziggy walked the earth. His life and death passed me by. Much like the whole career of David Bowie. A Greatest Hits album and nothing more. But as a lover of biographies, and of popular music in general, I saw this on the Kindle Store and took the chance to fill in the gaps.
19 de jun. de 2024 · There are classic rock bands that waited years for "Mr. Weiner" to allow them to be inducted. I think Jann Wenner has cheapened the importance of the RRHOF. That's just how I feel. I also think the best rock song of all time is American Pie by Don McLean, but even that is subjective.
