I know there’s a theory going around saying that the Afton children have been swapped over to the Emily family (it rhymes heh) for story purposes in the movie. So the Afton’s get the only daughter Vanessa (stand in for Charlotte Emily) and the Emily’s get 3 children, Mike, Garret, Abby (stand in for Mike, Crying Child, Elizabeth).
