24 de out. de 2017 · This year, when Altuve took a higher borderline pitch, it was called a strike 55% of the time. The league average was 34%. Aaron Judge finished at just 5%. And, this year, when Altuve took a lower borderline pitch, it was called a strike 16% of the time. The league average was 28%.
12 de set. de 2023 · By FanGraphs WAR, he ranks third among AL position players since 2021, trailing only Aaron Judge and José Ramírez. On a per-game basis, only Judge and Mike Trout have been better. Suffice it to say, Altuve isn’t on the decline. He never was. Not even close.
2 de jul. de 2014 · That’s not always right down the middle, you know; in fact, according to Baseball Savant, Altuve is only hitting .220 this year on pitches right down the pipe. Do remember, though, that Altuve’s height makes his ‘down the pipe’ just a little different, as Jeff went into detail on last year.

Both just 32 years old, they have plenty of time to climb the ranks, too. Within a few years, they should find themselves second and third behind only infield hit god Ichiro Suzuki .
