Há 1 dia · Oliver Cromwell died on 3 September 1658, aged 59, from complications of malaria and kidney stone disease. He was a Puritan leader who led the Commonwealth of England after the Civil War and signed Charles I's death warrant. He was hanged, beheaded and his head was thrown on a spike.
Cromwell was on the brink of evacuating his army by sea from Dunbar. However, on 3 September 1650, unexpectedly, Cromwell smashed the main Scottish army at the Battle of Dunbar, killing 4,000 Scottish soldiers, taking another 10,000 prisoner, and then capturing the Scottish capital of Edinburgh. 23 de out. de 2015 · A doctor claims that the English leader who abolished the monarchy and ruled as Lord Protector died from a lethal combination of malaria and typhoid fever caused by a Salmonella infection. The diagnosis is based on the symptoms of his brain, lungs and spleen, which were consistent with the symptoms of these diseases.
It is thought that Cromwell’s death was caused by septicemia brought on by the infection, although his grief following the death of his supposed favourite daughter Elizabeth the previous month from what is thought to be cancer certainly contributed to his rapid decline.
