13 de mai. de 2013 · This is somewhat consistent with this quote: Gruenwald suggested that Gotham City is located somewhere in the state of New Jersey while Metropolis is located in close vicinity to Washington, D.C. There are several other comics which place Gotham City in New Jersey, with references to proxity to the Jersey Shore and Hudson County.

12 de mar. de 2017 · It can't rain all the time. @JoeL. No, Gotham City is based on New York City (and "Gotham" is in fact a real-world nickname for New York). This is only natural, since DC artists were almost exclusively New Yorkers until recently. Metropolis is also based on New York, which is of course confusing.

It's far too grim to be somewhere that anyone would live, or businesses would open up in. 12 de mar. de 2017 · 50. Every superhero began from somewhere. Batman had his origins in Gotham because it was a city that needed a symbol, a savior who selflessly acted right no matter what. Superman began from Metropolis that way, etc. But when you look at DC heroes from the context of Justice League, you see that they leave and save the planet from bigger problems.
22 de ago. de 2015 · According to Brave and the Bold (Vol. 1, #179), Gotham City is eventually annexed by Metropolis by the era of The Legion of Superheroes, turning all of Gotham into just one of Metropolis' neighborhoods.
