In 2020, the school carried out renovations which included work on principal Lisa Kerr's living quarters. An unnamed source claimed that the renovations cost approximately £100,000 and included £8,000 for carpets and £6,000 for flooring.

There is a 10% school fee discount to all regular, full time, serving members of the UK Armed Forces and FCDO. Means tested Bursarial support is available on application. Gordonstoun offers a number of scholarships on entry at 11+ (to the Junior School in year 7) 13+ (Year 9) and 16+ (Sixth Form).
