He met Eliot in 1851. They found they had many shared interests and fell in love. He was married and not able to get a divorce for legal reasons.
Another crucial theme of Eliot’s works is finding meaning in life. Even in her personal life, Evans struggled to find stability and mental peace in the changing world.
