  1. Description. These shoes were part of Frank "Felix" Adler's traditional clown costume, which he wore during most of his performances. Like many pieces of his costume, Adler handmade these shoes to appear the way he wanted them to. A photograph of the shoes compared to a size 6 women's tennis shoes is also attached.

  2. Frank Bartlet Adler (better known by his stage name Felix Adler; June 17, 1895 – February 1, 1960), was an American circus performer and entertainer. Known as "The King of Clowns", he performed for Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey for 20 years. He was inducted into the International Clown Hall of Fame in 1989.
