Contact Family Welcome Centers to get help with enrollment and admissions. Meeting Student Needs Our schools warmly welcome and serve all NYC students, including students with disabilities, students learning English, students with accessibility needs, and students in temporary housing, as well as LGBTQ students.
New York City families can get help with public school enrollment and admissions at Department of Education (DOE) Family Welcome Centers. Appointments are not required but recommended. Submit your child's report card grades to a Family Welcome Center by May 3rd at 3pm. After review of your child's report grades, you will be notified of the eligibility determination within 2 business days. If your child is eligible, you will be provided with instructions about how to apply.
