Edward John David "Eddie" Redmayne, OBE (Londres, 6 de janeiro de 1982) [1] é um ator e modelo britânico. Ele é mais conhecido pelos filmes Sete Dias com Marilyn, Les Misérables, Fantastic Beasts e A Teoria de Tudo, pelo qual ganhou o BAFTA, Globo de Ouro, SAG Award e o Oscar de Melhor Ator.

Redmayne won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his portrayal of the physicist Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything (2014). He was Oscar-nominated for playing the transgender artist Lili Elbe in The Danish Girl (2015). From 2016 to 2022, he starred as Newt Scamander in the Fantastic Beasts film series.

Considerado o cientista mais famoso do mundo e "sucessor" de Albert Einstein, Hawking é conhecido também por ter esclerose lateral amiotrófica (ELA).
For his performance, Redmayne won multiple awards, including the Academy Award for Best Actor. As such, he became the first man born in the 1980s to win an acting Oscar. He received further critical acclaim for his portrayal of Lili Elbe, one of the first known recipients of sex reassignment surgery, in The Danish Girl (2015).
