21 de mar. de 2022 · Desktop discord uses 243 mb (for me at least, your mileage may vary slightly.) This is enough ram to run 8 copies of Audacity (27.7MB) or 4 copies of Steam (initially 57.6MB.) As a browser, this amount of ram is acceptable since rendering HTML and loading tons of images, scripts, etc. is a complicated set of tasks.
24 de ago. de 2021 · I’ve tried request desktop site on both Safari and Chrome on my iPad and the icon for ‘open in browser’ on discord.com appears very briefly then disappears/being replaced by ‘open Discord in App’. I’ve also tried Incognito mode in Chrome and no change.
5 de abr. de 2023 · Browser discord is much more limited than the app. There are many points about this, for example discord optimization in the browser is far behind the app in my experience. And this is not the only example. I advise you to use the application, it is supported and works much better.
22 de fev. de 2024 · Does anyone know how to get into the movie-web discord? I've tried the button for it on the site itself and it won't load. I know of the site itself being wacky right now, but I just want to be in the discord just in case it gets fixed
I use the browser version of Discord. I would like someone to give me some pros and cons of each. I especially wish to know if one is slower than the other, and if one slows down your pc more than the other.
6 de jan. de 2022 · That's the nature of Electron based web clients. And besides - Discord doesn't let you choose which device to encode your stream. It just defaults to the CPU. Currently iOS, web and app at sharing codebase (Android soon™), this makes adding of new features a shitton easier. iOS Discord uses React afaik - not Electron.
I bet haha. I use it as a replacement container for Microsoft 365 since I can't access OneDrive directly from Word and Excel when installed through WINE etc. So I just use Edge logged in to my Microsoft account. And while I'm at it, i have the web version of WhatsApp open in a tab along with it. On Windows I use Edge mostly as a PDF reader.

If you watch the file transfers while Discord tries to update, you can see it trying to create the 1.0.9008 folder by transferring everything from 1.0.9007 into it, failing to update, then moving it back.
