de Havilland. The de Havilland Aircraft Company Limited ( / də ˈhævɪlənd /) was a British aviation manufacturer established in late 1920 by Geoffrey de Havilland at Stag Lane Aerodrome Edgware on the outskirts of north London. Operations were later moved to Hatfield in Hertfordshire.

Geoffrey de Havilland, English aircraft designer, manufacturer, and pioneer in long-distance jet flying. His company produced the twin-engined Mosquito, a high-speed, all-purpose aircraft of plywood construction, and was one of the first to make jet-propelled aircraft, including the Vampire and Venom jet fighters.
