  5. At the top of the Classes page, click Add Create class. Note: If you don’t find Create class, your account only lets you join classes. Switch accounts or contact your Google Workspace administrator for help. Enter the class name. (Optional) To enter a short description, grade level, or class time, click Section and enter the details.

  6. Click the class Settings . The class name is automatically entered. Under Class details, enter your changes and click Save. Note: Blank fields don't show in the student view. Note: If you edit the class name, the name of your class Drive folder doesn't automatically update. To update the folder name, go to your class Drive folder.

  7. Share a class code—Students enter the code in Classroom. If students have trouble with the link or code, you can reset them, or send students an email invite instead. For instructions to join a class, students can go to Join a class. Note: Students can unenroll themselves from classes. If they unenroll, their grades are removed. Invite students

  8. Click the class. On the Stream page, click Announce something to your class. Note: If you don’t see Announce something to your class, your teacher turned off permissions to post. Enter what you want to say and click Post. Add an image, file, video, or link to your post

  9. Note: For details on grades for individual assignments, go to See your work for a class. See your grade from the Classes page. Note: If you don’t see a grade, your teacher doesn’t share overall grades in Classroom. You can ask your teacher for information about your grade.

  10. Click Class settings About class membership. Under Which classes can users in your domain join, choose an option: Classes in your domain only—Your domain’s users can only join classes in your domain. Classes in allowlisted domains—Your domain's users can join classes in a domain on your allowlist.
