Founded in 1326, Clare is the second oldest College in Cambridge, home to a thriving community of students and teaching Fellows from all over the world. Clare was founded on inclusivity, and was amongst the first Cambridge Colleges to become co-educational in 1972.
Home. In 1326, Clare was the first Oxford or Cambridge foundation to bring together a Master, Fellows, and Scholars in a single community. Today we are a diverse College community brought together by a common interest in learning, teaching, and research with around 100 Fellows, 300 postgraduate students, and 500 undergraduate students.
