Lady Charlotte Thynne. William Henry Walter Montagu Douglas Scott, 6th Duke of Buccleuch and 8th Duke of Queensberry, KG, PC, JP, DL (9 September 1831 – 5 November 1914) was a Scottish Member of Parliament and peer.
Biografia. Nascido em Londres, William era o filho de Walter Montagu-Douglas-Scott, 5.º Duque de Buccleuch e de sua esposa, Lady Charlotte Anne Thynne, uma filha do 2.º Marquês de Bath. [ 1][ 2] Ele foi educado em Eton College e em Christ Church, na Universidade de Oxford. [ 2]
1 de mai. de 2022 · William Henry Walter Montagu Douglas Scott, 6th Duke of Buccleuch & 8th Duke of Queensberry, died at Montagu House, Whitehall, London, England on Thursday 5 November 1914, in his 84th year. He had survived his wife, Lady Louisa Jane, by little more than two years. He was survived by seven of his eight children and their families.

William Montagu Douglas Scott, The Earl of Dalkeith, who became the 7th Duke of Buccleuch was elected President of St. Andrew's Ambulance Association in 1908. The Presidency of the Association (now St Andrew's First Aid) has been held by the Buccleuch family from that date.

The 3rd Duke sold Adderbury, and Sudbrook was disposed of in 1819. In 1810 the third Duke further inherited Drumlanrig (Dumfriesshire) and the dukedom of Queensberry from William Douglas, 4th Duke of Queensberry (1725-1810), who had succeeded his cousin the 3rd Duke (d. 1778) in the extensive Queensberry estates.
