William Thomas Cosgrave (born June 5, 1880, Dublin, Ire.—died Nov. 16, 1965, Dublin) was an Irish statesman, who was the first president of the Executive Council (prime minister; 1922–32) of the Irish Free State. At an early age, Cosgrave was attracted to the Irish nationalist party Sinn Féin.

Cosgrave, W. T.W. T. [William Thomas] Cosgrave (1880–1965), Irish nationalist and head of government, was born in Dublin on 5 June. After education by the Christian Brothers he became a publican. He was active in Arthur Griffith's Sinn Féin and was a member of Dublin Corporation from 1909.
