Victor Oliver von Samek (8 July 1898 – 15 August 1964) was an Austrian-born British musician, entertainer, comedian and actor, most popular between the 1920s and 1950s. [1] Early life and musical career. He was born in Vienna into a Jewish family, the son of Baron Viktor von Samek.

Towards the end of her marriage to Vic Oliver, she began an affair with the American ambassador to Britain, John Winant; it is believed the failure of the relationship contributed to the depression that led to Winant's suicide in 1947.
Vic Oliver was a versatile performer who composed, acted, and hosted TV shows in the UK and South Africa. He was born in Vienna in 1898 and died in Johannesburg in 1964.
