Vera Turán Sós (11 September 1930 – 22 March 2023) was a Hungarian mathematician who specialized in number theory and combinatorics. She was a student and close collaborator of both Paul Erdős and Alfréd Rényi. She also collaborated frequently with her husband Pál Turán, an analyst, number theorist, and combinatorist.

22 de mar. de 2023 · Vera Sós was a Hungarian mathematician who specialised in number theory and combinatorics. She worked at the Alfréd Rényi Institute of Mathematics and won many prizes including the Tibor Szele Medal (1974) and the Széchenyi Prize (1997).
5 de abr. de 2023 · We are sad to announce that number theorist and combinatorialist Vera Sós has died. She taught at Eötvös Lorand University for more than 50 years, starting in 1952, and she was active in service to the mathematical community through the János Bolyai Mathematical Society.
In an interview Vera Sós gave in Budapest in July 2000 she spoke about mathematicians who had played a large part in her life. The interview was conducted by Gyula Staar and is available in Hungarian on 'Matematika Professzor Asszonya', Természet Világa folyóirat .
