Universidade Fordham (em inglês Fordham University) é uma universidade privada, sem fins lucrativos e católica dos Estados Unidos, [1] com três campi ao redor da cidade de Nova Iorque. [ 1 ] É a universidade católica e jesuíta mais antiga do nordeste dos Estados Unidos e a terceira universidade mais antiga do estado de Nova York [ 2 ] .
Fordham was founded as St. John's College in 1841 by the Irish-born coadjutor bishop (later archbishop) of the Diocese of New York, John Hughes. [22] This makes it the third-oldest university in the state of New York, [10] and the first Catholic institution of higher education in the northeastern United States. [9]
