The Museum of the Army ( Spanish: Museo del Ejército) is a national museum located in Toledo, Spain, attached to the Ministry of Defence. [1] The collection was previously housed in Madrid, and the museum opened on its present site in 2010. It occupies two linked buildings, Toledo's historic Alcázar (castle) and a purpose-built extension.

Infantes was born in Toledo on 18 May 1892. In 1907, aged 15, he entered the Toledo Infantry Academy where his classmates included Francisco Franco and Juan Yagüe. Graduating in 1910, he was commissioned as a lieutenant and was sent to join the Spanish African Army in Morocco.
Manuel Gallego was born on 22 June 1894 in the Badajoz town of Mérida, later settling in the capital of Spain, where in 1914, at the age of 20, he entered in the Toledo Infantry Academy as a student, and in 1917 he graduated as a 2nd lieutenant and was assigned to the 52nd Infantry Regiment.
