Expurgo de Pride (em inglês: Pride's Purge) é o nome comumente dado a um evento que ocorreu em 6 de dezembro de 1648, quando soldados impediram que membros do Parlamento considerados hostis ao New Model Army entrassem na Câmara dos Comuns da Inglaterra.
Há 3 dias · Pride's Purge On 6 December 1648 Colonel Thomas Pride and his soldiers stood outside the entrance to St Stephen's Chapel and, as the Commons convened that morning, arrested 45 Members and excluded a further 186 whom the Army thought were unlikely to support its goal of punishing the King.
The next day, soldiers commanded by Colonel Thomas Pride forcibly excluded from the Long Parliament those MPs viewed as their opponents, and arrested 45. The purge cleared the way for the execution of Charles in January 1649, and establishment of the Protectorate in 1653; it is considered the only recorded military coup d'état in English history.
