26 de jul. de 2023 · I saw The Weeknd in Tampa last year, and he opened the show wearing a mask. After the first song, he proudly unveils himself, and the crowd lost it. (Myself included.) You can’t honestly tell me Abel doesn’t care about his image. Which isn’t even a bad thing if you make genuinely good music like he does.
12 de mai. de 2020 · I’d only shift MDM behind Trilogy and Kissland, but I agree with your ranking other than that. BBTM is when I was introduced to The Weeknd so it has a special place in my heart. I still love all of his albums (or chapters), though, and I think that the vast majority of his songs are great.
I'll still make music, maybe as Abel, maybe as The Weeknd. But I still want to kill The Weeknd. And I will. Eventually. I'm definitely trying to shed that skin and be reborn. His music and art in general has themes of satan and religion in general. It’s a bunch of metaphorical shit hidden deep in sub text and shit. Like after hours storyline videos being a representation of hell. If you wanna call that satanic then sure. The Weeknd is satanic. It’s an art piece, it’s not real.
22 de jun. de 2023 · I think the majority of the hate is not for just his acting. Dont get me wrong his acting was trash, like every scene with him in it just took me out of the story. But The Weeknd took over the show in 2022, and the original director who was a woman was replaced with Sam levinson under his direction. He also co-wrote in the show.
