10 de fev. de 2020 · The Saga of Gösta Berling is based on the eponymous 1891 novel by Selma Lagerlöf, the first woman to have won the Nobel Prize for Literature. It was a major production which marked a summit of Swedish film industry, but also the beginning of its decline.
Gösta Berling is a young and attractive minister. Because of his alcoholism and his daring sermons, he is finally defrocked. He becomes a tutor of countess Marta's stepdaughter and they fall in love. But the countess has a plan of her own.
