The Old Man of Lochnagar is a 1980 children's book written by King Charles III, at that time the Prince of Wales, and illustrated by Sir Hugh Casson. The story revolves around an old man who lives in a cave in the cliffs surrounding the corrie loch under the Lochnagar, a mountain which overlooks the royal estate at Balmoral in Scotland where the Royal Family spend much of their summer holidays.

The old man of Lochnagar leaves his comfortable cave after many years to make some adventurous expeditions into the surrounding Scottish countryside.
"The Old Man of Lochnagar" wurde 1980 von Prinz Charles (His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales) geschrieben, d.h. nur kurze Zeit vor der Geburt seiner beiden Söhne. Das "Kinder"-Buch mit recht vielen Seiten und vor allem viel Text, wurde mit meist lustigen Zeichnungen (Aquarellen) versehen und ist auch für "große Kinder" geeignet.
