Subra Suresh is an Indian-born American engineer, materials scientist, and academic leader. He is currently Professor at Large at Brown University and Vannevar Bush Professor of Engineering Emeritus at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

He was recognized for his pioneering research across engineering, physical sciences and life sciences, and his leadership in higher education, industry and government.

6 de jun. de 2022 · Prof Subra Suresh, who led NTU Singapore for five years, announced his departure in June 2022 to return to the US with his family. He praised NTU's achievements and said his successor would build on his vision for higher learning.
Prof Subra Suresh is a materials science and engineering expert who has served as the 4th President and the inaugural Distinguished University Professor at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, since 2018. He has also been the President of Carnegie Mellon University, the Dean of Engineering at MIT, and the Vannevar Bush Professor at MIT. He has a long and esteemed career in nanomaterials, bioengineering, biomimetic materials, and biophysics research, and has been elected to all three branches of the US National Academies and many other international academies.
