Stephen T. Ayers (born 1962), FAIA, LEED AP, is an American architect who served as the 11th Architect of the Capitol, from 2010 to 2018. Ayers has been a Fellow of the National Academy of Public Administration since 2020.

Mr. Ayers is a member and Fellow of the American Institute of Architects (FAIA), and an Accredited Professional in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED AP). Mr. Ayers was the recipient of the Construction Industry Institute's 2011 Carroll H. Dunn Award for Excellence.
Upon Hantman's retirement on February 2, 2007, the Chief Operating Officer of the Architect of the Capitol, Stephen T. Ayers, became the Acting Architect of the Capitol, and was subsequently confirmed to that post in his own right.

It was designed over 200 years ago—what do you do?’. ” As he explains, his office oversees 18.5 million square feet of space in 36 buildings and an annual budget of $730 million.
The Honorable Stephen T. Ayers, FAIA, NAC, CCM, LEED AP, the 11th Architect of the Capitol and President of The Ayers Group, LLC, is the Interim CEO of the National Institute of Building Sciences. Ayers previously served as Chair of the NIBS Board from 2017 to 2018.
