The Pontifical College Josephinum is a Roman Catholic seminary and private university in Columbus, Ohio. It was founded by Joseph Jessing in 1888 and was granted the status of a Pontifical College in 1892 by Pope Leo XIII, making it the only pontifical seminary in North America.

St. Michael Core Beliefs: Jesus Christ is the source and summit of all we do. Teachers instruct using best practices to ensure high academic achievement for all learners.
Ten of the 11 high schools are Diocesean owned and operated. One – St. Charles Preparatory – began as the Diocesan seminary and remains all-male. Cristo Rey Columbus is the newest high school and serves families within particular economic constraints.
An advocate of Catholic education, he opened the following schools in Ohio: Tuscarawas Central Catholic High School in New Philadelphia; William V. Fisher Catholic High School in Lancaster; Bishop Rosecrans High School in Zanesville; Elwell also converted the diocesan seminary in Columbus into St. Charles College Preparatory School.
