Spencer Perceval (1762-1812) was a British statesman and barrister who served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1809 until his assassination in 1812. He was a follower of William Pitt the Younger, opposed Catholic emancipation and reform of Parliament, and supported the war against Napoleon and the abolition of the slave trade.

Spencer Perceval (born Nov. 1, 1762, London, Eng.—died May 11, 1812, London) was a lawyer, politician, and British prime minister from 1809 until his assassination in 1812. The second son of the 2nd Earl of Egmont, Perceval was educated at Harrow and at Trinity College, Cambridge.
