Silvio Micali is a visionary cryptographer and mathematician who pioneered new methods for efficient verification of mathematical proofs in complexity theory. He and his co-winner Shafi Goldwasser laid the foundations for the science of cryptography with their 1984 paper "Probabilistic Encryption". He has also made contributions to randomness, pseudorandomness, interactive proofs, zero-knowledge proofs, and other topics in computer science and mathematics.
Algorand is a decentralized, secure, and scalable blockchain platform developed by MIT Professor Silvio Micali and his startup, Algorand. The platform uses a unique architecture that allows anyone to validate new blocks, create smart contracts, and issue a national digital currency based on Algo coins.
